well when I get a proper DH bike, Should I get a frame or the whole bike? If I got the frame I was looking at something like a Santa Cruz v10 or a giant faith/glory but Ill get in a few years so those bikes would be old, well how do frames for those style of bikes normally go for? and then how much do all the components cost compared to getting the bike fully built? thanks.

The advantage to building a bike rather than buying one straight up is that you can build it how YOU like it, and you can build it slowly over time.

The disadvantage is definatley the cost, it's alot more money.

Well in my opinion if you upgrade all ur current bike components and buy the frame later then its no problem cause you will get the bike you want and you will not feel the money spent. But if you are planning to buy new parts for the frame, might as well by the whole bike instead. For me Im planning to upgrade my HT components and maybe later buy a Trance or Anthem Frame cause I heard rumours saying Trance and Anthem for 2007 will be part carbon

For one thing, I would say a DH is mostly if you race. Cuase those parts can get reall expensive. The Giant is more to a Freeride bike. The V-10, although I have never ridden it, would look like a good bike. Another bike you might want to look at would be the Intense M3.

yeah, the intense looks a bit cheap and jagged to me though...
