When I started buying parts for my new ride I'm putting together, I picked up a Wipperman Connex 9 speed chain. Then I ended up buying a Shimano 105 10 speed cassette. I believe the Connex chain is spec'd at 6.5mm width, but I noticed the chains for Shimano 10 speed cassettes are spec'd at between 6.0mm to 6.2mm. Should I buy a 'real' 10 speed chain, or will I be OK with what I have? TIA for insights and assistance....

There have been a couple posters reporting success at using 9spd chains of various types on 10spd drives.

You'll get the best shifting performance from a 10-speed chain.

I just recently got a connex link made specifically for my Shimano chain CN-6600 10-speed and it says on the box 6.1 mm
