General Cycling Discussion - First timmer

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am getting ready to true a rim for the first time. I have never done this. I have had friends give it a try and wind up worse than they started. I have a very small spot out of true maybe 1/8 of an inch out. I am hoping not to turn the 1/8 of an inch blip in my rim into a 3-inch swerve. I am not sure which spokes to tighten or loosen. I can’t believe that this is that difficult of a process but I figured I would ask for a little advice before I tried it.
