Prior to the upgrade, if you wanted to use extended characters such as the ° (degree symbol) all you had to do is hold down the Alt key and press a four digit number, in my example ALT+0176. Now when you try any ALT+nnnn not only will it not enter the character it will take you to the previous page. You must now resort to using the character mapper application and cutting and pasting into the message body.
