Touring - Where to find this information.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I need to contact the proper agency to find county maps for when I do my tour next year. I used to know who to contact but I have had a minor "brain fart" and forgot. I live in NW Iowa. Who would I contact, the states DOT office? Or is there a office in each county I need to get ahold of?
Thanks.

I don't know if you intend to tour in Missouri, but I do know that the Missouri Department of Transportation will mail out bicycle suitability maps for different parts of the state. Other states may have something similar in their Depts. of Transportation. If you'd like, I'll look up the e-mail address to request Missouri's maps.
No I don't intend to tour in Missouri. My longest trip next year will only be 4 days long. It is going to be from Sioux City, Ia. along and through the Missouri River valley stopping at camp sites along the way. The reason it is only going to be 4 days long is there are 4 camp ground areas betweem here and the Missouri border. The last one being Waubonsie State Park. Which is just north of the Iowa/Missouri border. If there are camp grounds within riding distance in Missouri I might extend my trip to be longer. Any info. on this would be appreciated too.
