I recieved a trailer for my bike as a gift and havent had a chance to use it. I was just wanted to get some responce on how trailers work with full suspension bikes.

1) NO!! Do not remove a bolt.
2) When you say "longer axle", do you mean you have a 10mm or 12mm through axle or are you talking about the quick release?
Either way you can get a longer axle or qr.
Who makes the trailer? Some trailers do not work with disc brakes.
