I was at Supergo trying on a pair of Sidi Energy 2 SDS shoes. They seemed to be a pretty good buy at $159.00 and they fit my feet very well. The thing is, the sales person kept trying to talk me out of them saying that the Techno-II buckles could break and it would be expensive for me to replace them. They looked to me to be well made, and with proper care I think they would last, but if they DID break the shoe would essentially be ruined. Does any body have any experience with this shoe? Like I said, they fit me great and the adjustment could be dialed just right. I just don't want them to fall apart. Thanks

I have the sidi genius shoe, it has almos the exact same buckle. The only prob I had once was that the screw that holds it down came loose, and I've had them about a year now.

They are well made and the buckles are replaceable if broken. The cost of a broken buckle isn't expensive but I doubt you will need to replace anything on that shoe for awhile.

They are excellent shoes.

Within about three months of getting my Sidi Energy IIs, one of the buckle lynch-pins fell out on a ride, along with part of the buckle. I was able to get a replacement for @ US $40.

They're extremely comfortable shoes, but if I had it to do over again, I'd get Genius 4s.

I have Sidi Action SRS mtb-shoes that use the same buckles. I've used them only one season though but I haven't had any problems. And they are replaceable after all.

Thats a good price on a top of the line shoe (when they first came out). If they have your size I'd buy them in a heartbeat - wish they had my size...
