I am a road guy, but now I am getting more and more inside cross country biking. I am facing a dilema and I would like to know what are the diferences between Avid brake levers AD5 and modulation SD7? Are these differences that big and is SD7 that outstanding brake lever? finally, is there a big difference in braking quality between Cane Creek Direct Curve 3 and Avid single digit 7 V-brakes?

Thank you guys

SD-7 allows you to bring the lever closer to the bar by adjusting the knob. I am using mech discs on my rig, so I can't speak to the V-brakes. Hope this helps.

wrong. the dial on SD-7's lets you change the feeling of the brakes. by changing the leverage of the lever and the cable, it lets you make it feel squishy, or very firm and precise. It changes how close to the bars the lever comes i think, but the main part is leverage.

just had to set you straight on that one.
