View Full Version : Beacon Blowout!! Spokane, WA - Sat/Sun, May 20-21
Here it is! - The first official gravity race of the season for Eastern Washington. Practice all day Saturday; racing on Sunday. No shuttles provided this year - sorry - but worth the push for great racing on one of the Pacific Northwest's favorite venues. Two-run format most likely utilizing the upper half of the 'new' course and the lower half of the 'old' course.

If you have questions call or e-mail the contacts on the flyer or PM me. See you at the races!!
We have just learned from the NORBA West Regional rep that, due to Bellingham's Broken Spoke Festival having to drop the DH race from their slate, our humble Beacon Blowout will now be the Washington State Downhill Championship. If you are a WA DHer, this is your chance to qualify for Mammoth.
For your convenience, we have also made online registration available via Active.com. Note that Active.com collects a small ($3) surcharge; but this gives you the convenience of using the ol' plastic to pay for it :). The link is:

Wow! Does it pay to have 'friends in high places' !! If you go to the Mountain Bike Action (http://www.mbaction.com)web site, you'll see the announcement about our humble little DH soiree right there on the front page! Special thanks to Editor Jimmy Mac and webmeister Ed Arnet.
Latest report: Took a few runs of the course in its entirety last night and it is going to be GREAT! The portions of both courses that we are using flow together very well and it should be a blast to ride. Hit the new stepup last night and it is a blast! Going to be a good addition to the expert line. Here is a pict of my young friend Devin hitting it:

Washingtonians remember: This is the only scheduled NORBA race this sesaon in the state! As such it is the NORBA WA State Championship. Hope to see everyone there.
