Your speed was 32.3256 mph ... holding it for 200 meters .... my lungs just exploded thinking of that.

Cool !

My goal is to go faster.... and then to go even faster than that.

at 32.325 mph my cadence was roughly 121 rpms...

I KNOW that I can spin higher than that for 200 meters... I think my gear was too high for me to really spin it out a bit more. If I can get 33 or 34 mph then I will be in the 12's easy !!

I raced in the state championships this past thursday, I had a blast.

I was the slowest guy in the 200m flying race... A 14 year old kid and a 72 year old man were both faster than me ! =)

Anyway... my time was 13.19 with a 50x15 gear.

=)

You may want to add that the old man is also a track world champion;)

Go to a 49 or 48 tooth ring and spin it. That time and a 90" gear seems very "mash". Granted I seem to have a natural spin, I found sliding back on my seat a bit helps aswell as adjusting the cleat on the shoe so the axle is just slightly behind the ball of my foot. Watch how the fastest guys at your track do while spinning in a 200m. Leg speed is probably around 160rpm. A good way to learn to balance your spin so you can raise your cadence is probably the most skill builder ever. Ride on the roads one legged. Go like 5 min a side. Works wonders!

I did 15.12s in my very first sprint ever, actually my very first bicycle race ever. I'm not sure of the gears I was using as it was a rental bike.

My goal is to knock a second off by the end of the season.

Thats awesom! My first timed lap was about a year ago. What a joke! haha. Not only did my path look like a snake had left it (zig zags) but I did like a 13 second lap. Witch now I look back on and laugh along with everyone elese. If you keep at it youll be doing more than knocking a second off!

Was at Encino today. My first experience on the track. It was great. I ran a 48/18 gearing, and I think the temperature hit 96 - lord knows what the temp was on the track itself! My 200m was 16.5. I felt I could push it better I had a pushed my gearing to a 48/16. Look forward to working on it and see where I can go.

I just hit up Superdrome in Frisco the other day and pulled an 18 second lap.

Too bad I didnt record my 200 sprint. I think mine would have been somewhere around 15 or 16.

Went back and had friend record it...

14.52

I went out for practice tonight... a bunch of our regular super-fast guys were out at nationals so it was more of the regular crowd (But still faster than me ! LOL) ...

I ran 50 laps at medium pace as a warm up and then a 1 lap final sprint, sure enough my shoe slips out of the cleat on the start of the sprint and I was feeling FAST ... that ended quick..

Then, a bunch more people showed up and some of them are cat 1's on road bikes ... so ... they went around 30 more laps at a really good clip, I would say 25 - 30 mph the whole time and so I could only hang for like 10 laps ... then I was done and I dropped out !! LOL

THEN .... FINALLY .... I got to try a flying 200 .... I bested my previous best time...

= 13.08 !!

ALMOST in the 12's !!!!!!!!!! Gearing was 50x15.

Ok, more training. Wish me luck !

ok - best time i registered this year at ERV in Northbrook IL:
13.2

I have been off-bike (medical) for two weeks, and I am DYING to get back out. Dying so much that I bought a road frame to actually log some friggin base miles. I was hurting this year with ZERO under my belt...student teeaching was a killer of many things.

Awesome job !

With more practice you should easily get in the 12's this year!

Good luck getting back on the track.
