General Cycling Discussion - Bicycle Wheel, The. Jobst Brandt. ISBN 0960723668

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm having trouble trying to get this book in the UK. I had it on order from Amazon for about 4 months but they never obtained and kept sending crap emails that they were still waiting for it. I don't think they tried too hard. Other bookshops can get it but again, it seems that being a US published book it's going to take a long time through them as well.
Questions. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that sells the book and who'd likely have it in stock? Phone numbers would help if you have them. Failing that, is there someone US/Canada-side who could send me one? I've sent money orders to the US before but the bank charges make it quite expensive, so I guess there is an economy of scale involved!
Does anyone have any ideas how I could get it via the US without the excess charges involved. Something on the lines like a company that I'd pay in the UK but who'd ship reliably from the US.
Thanks.
Here's what Countrybooks had to say.

The Book Place said,
Non stock item. We need to order these direct from the publisher. This usually takes 2 to 3 weeks.

Hope this helps.
Bokkie,
When I ordered my copy from Cambria it took 3 months
for them to get it in.
I don't see why Amazon would have such a difficult
time tho, the US amazon has it in stock. . .

So here's my question, why don't local bike shops seem to carry this book? To me, this says more about the shop than the book.

If all else fails, you can always order it from Avocet (http://www.avocet.com/wheelbook/wheelbook.html), who published it (German, too!). Doesn't solve your problem, though.
I bought my copy from my local shop, but I don't recall seeing a copy on their shelves in quite some time.

I'll phone a few lbs where I live. If I've had such a hard time trying to get it, I'm not sure they'd put too much effort into it either!
Thanks for the links, at least I have some options other than Amazon.

I picked up a s/h copy for very little.

From what I understand it's out of print, just go for used.
If you take your web browser to Alibris.com you can do a search based on title and author. I just did and found quite a few used copies for sale for as little as $14.95 (US). Good luck.
