Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey, I'm Brandon, 21 years old, and I'm a nursing student at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. I just bought my first road bike in late June, and trained on it all summer, and I'm continuing to train in preparation for the spring and summer road races. Before cycling, I was (and still am) a cross country/ distance runner. I'm looking forward to racing a bike because I enjoy training for this more than running, which I've been doing for the last 8 years. I look forward to some cool conversations with everyone here:)

Hi Brandon,
I'm a fellow Huntingtonian. Are you one of the guys that rides with Jeff's bike shop? If so maybe I know you already. Where do you usually ride around town? Currently I only ride a mountain bike, but I hope to get a cyclocross bike this year also. I ride with Jeff's shop every wednesday night on the mountain bike rides. see ya around town.

Hey Mike, yeah I just started riding with the guys and girls at Jeff's this summer. That's usually the only time I ride out of Huntington, the rest of the time I usually hit the back roads outside of Barboursville and Milton. I go by both my middle name (Brandon) and my first name Chris, I use them both. Did you ever take your mountain bike out with the road guys? I remember a guy that had a red mountain bike without the off road tires several times. Nice to meet you bro, take care

I wouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight and I've never been foolish enough to try a road ride using my mountain bike. I can hardly keep up with the group when they are on mountain bikes on the road;). The mountain riding should be good this week, especially if we get snow on xmas day. btw Brandon, where is the nursing school at Marshall? Is it at the VAMC? peace

The nursing school at Marshall is on the University campus in Huntington at Prichard Hall. Clinicals are done in St. Mary's, Cabell Huntington Hospital and several other places around the city.
