I was looking for a sign of spring. Then I almost ran over a robin so I changed into my summer slick tires a few days ago. Since then it snowed once already, and it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Today, however it's 62 degrees and the robins are again trying to commit suicide with my front tire.

A few days ago I saw Red wing black birds, Cardinals, Robins, and could hear every kind of bird I can think of. It was about 60. Yesterday it snowed. Now it's 55. I don't want to see any more snow now.

You need two bikes Roody..one with slicks, one with the studded knobbies....:D Did you ever get another bike?

We get more snow as I write this. We have a proverb about the new snow being the killer of the old snow... dunno... even if it did take away all the old stuff, the fresh layer seems to continue falling down for a while now. Must be spring then :D.

How does the summer slick rate on the Threat to Robins scale?

I thought slimmer tires would keep the little pests safer. Those metal studs sure make the feathers fly! Spoils the meat too.

Fair enough.

Just remember the nursery rhyme, it's "Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie", anything else is casserole.
