Mountain Biking - Looking for a set of solid shorty bar ends

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just got my new cannondale f600 and realize I need bar ends. I want short ones, but unsure of the best ones to get. Im not worried about weight, but good fit design for climbing and fitting in the hands good. Any hints. thanks

Cane Creek has developed a great pair of bar ends, they're not shorties, but very comfy and technological wonders.
They've taken a metal subframe and used a rubberized exoskeleton to form an ergonomically correct grip. the attachment is toward the back/bottom 1/3 of the bar end, so steering is very precise.

Besides that, I'm clueless, I use riser bars w/o ends.

I'm glad you didn't say you run bar ends on your risers :D

I don't use barends, if I did I'd consider LP Composites (http://www.cambriabike.com/bars&ends/lp_composite_braids_carbon_baren.htm). The prettiest I've ever seen and they feel great in your hand. A mechanic friend of mine had a pair I checked out.
