Yay me! This weekend, for the first time, I fell over while still clipped into my pedals! I knew it would happen one day! It was pretty darn funny. Worse than just "I couldn't get out fast enough." I thought "Left foot, unclip!" Right foot came out. Body shifted left as usual. As I'm watching the world tilt sideways, I'm thinking "Other foot, dummy!" I NEVER take my right foot off first!! Doh!!

Same exact thing happened to me. I conciously knew to lean right since I was practicing unclipping the right foot but the body and reaction still goes left.

Glad to hear you survived the fall other than possibly a little embarrassment. :D

The other girl with me saw me. She was very proud! And maybe a few construction workers. :p

That happened to me for the first time this summer when I got new Look pedals. I stopped at a stop light and BLONK! Of course, people were in their cars looking at me, but I was laughing my head off. I also saw a guy go by on his bike but he didnt' see me, PHEW. I adjusted the float after that but I tell ya, those Look pedals, when you're in you're IN.

haha, I did that a couple times this summer. Once I was at a stop light in heavy traffic, and I started to go over to the side that my foot was still clipped in. And another time, I was starting a climb, and there was a sidewalk right beside the road, and I got up against the curb and went over onto the sidewalk. Someone in a truck saw me do that, they slowed down, but I couldn't see through the tinted windows, they probably slowed down to laugh instead of out of concern haha

Glad to hear you survived it! :D

My first tip over was on my mountain bike going through a swamp that flooded the trail...muddy water with wierd looking green foam covering it and bullfrogs all over the place. As I was crossing, I noticed all of the frog heads poking out of the water...I was taking a closer look to see what the heck they were, lost momentum...and splat. Never clipped out :p

Came up with a rolled ankle, covered in mud and green slime.

Haven't tipped over since

Welcome to the club :) !!

I did it out in front of my house - thank goodness my wife was not watching, she would have collapsed in laughter.

It seems as if everyone that goes clipless does it at somepoint. The saddest part of when I did it was the looooooong sloooow fallllllllll, and wondering if I was going to hurt my bike when I bounced.

Yeah I'm more concerned about getting a scratch on my bike than getting one on myself.

I was bummed when I fell over that time and saw that my new Look pedals had a scrape on them! I'd just gotten them! Funny thing is that I never fell over when I first went clipless, it was only when I got those new pedals. And when I had an accident a couple of months ago, my ankle got nastily twisted when my foot didn't unclip. It was really sore the next day and all swollen. OUCH!

Well no one has a clean record- I guess it's happened to every cyclist on earth!

well, my story is slighly different, my first time falling was when I was riding with my friend...I went to unclip the left side, because I ALWAYS unclip the left, and I ended up leaning to the right. My cat-like reflexes, however, would not let me fall. I quickly swung my leg over to the other side (planning an impromtu cyclocross dismount), and while swinging my leg, i comletely closelined my riding partner! He fell in the street, bike still clipped to his feet, and I fell, one foot still clipped in, both of us laughing our heads off sitting in the middle of the freakin' street! (still clipped to our bikes).

I suppose it is pretty funny in hindsight...it was also pretty funny then too...
