Mountain Biking - Weird....

this is really weird
a few days ago, it rained
so i decided to ride for a few hours
so my bike and clothing got soaked.
the next day was nice and sunny
so i decided to ride around the neighborhood to get my mind off of my homework
i noticed when i squeeze my rear brake lever all the way, it still slips and before the ride in the rain it didnt
i went in and cleaned the rotor with degreaser and tried to dry the pads with a hair dryer(i didnt hold the dryer on the pads for more than 10 seconds per pad for a few cycles)
and it still slips
any ideas as to what i can do to fix this?

never use ANY KIND OF OIL ON DISC BRAKES. once the pads get contaminated your screwed. you need new pads but for now sand the pads with 400 grit sandpaper. just sand until you see that the pads surface is turning semigloss

The guys from www.downcycles.com say you can put your pads in the oven under the broiler and "broil" the oil off. They also say to spray your bike with WD40 or Pam cooking spray so the mud drips right off....yeah, I want THAT mess all over my bike. good luck

I don't think he put oil on there. He said degreaser not oil, or am I not understanding that part correctly. The water shouldn't really hurt the pads I wouldn't think, mine have never been affected that way after getting wet. Try checking your lines for leaks.

i would check my lines for leaks... but i have bb5's =P

What brand of degreaser exactly? There's a big difference between Engine-Brite and Simple Green.

i bought it at performance... its their own brand type stuff.
it was a concentrate, so i mixed it at a 2 to 10 ratio
