I'm building a cyclocross bike- I have a 46/36 tooth crankset and a standard shimano bottom pull double road derailleur. I find that I have to mount the derailleur higher than normal to avoid jamming the chain. Is this a common problem with using a road derailleur with a compact crank? Is there a type of derailleur that will work better with a compact double?
thanks
