I had an Ecodyne velocar very much like that back in the 1980s'. Bat out of hell downhill with weak brakes. Clear plastic windscreen fogged/froze over in the Denver winter. When I stuck my head out to see I got frost bitten. In spring I was heat stressed in the Mojave desert and San Joquin Valley during a long tour. Truckers bailed me out each time. Strained my left knee pumping 68 lb of trike and fiberglass shell over the GrapeVine (I-5). In mild weather it was fun commuting 6 miles to work and back. I still have the trike frame and may rebuild it some day. Now I commute and tour on a Bruce Gordon.

Given enough $$$$ I would go for the motorized option.

I can't wait until they have more velos in stock, I want to take a trip over there (it's only 100km away!) to try them all!
