The Sirrus is comparable to the Trek FX fitness bike but is more road oriented; the Trek has lower gearing and wider tires. You can put fenders and a rack on the Sirrus; good for commuting or making beer runs.

Any other bikes you looked at?

You may want to look at the Sequoia as well. Very similar frame and design but with drop bars. More hand positions is a good thing. My wife has a Sirrus and she likes it...plenty strong and everything, no complaints.

I use a Sirrus Sport Disc (the one with the disc brakes). I like it a lot. It's dependable and fun to ride. I think it climbs like a cat. My ride buddy has a Sirrus Comp. HE really likes HIS. Do some test rides. Listen to your gut.

I have this bike and love it. I also have a Specialized Ruby, but it's not suitable for bombing around town - the Sirrus is. I think you'll love the easy ride and flexibility it offers. Good luck.
