Bicycle Mechanics - 14-26 cassette?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. With the terrain I cycle, and with the geartrain I have, I need nothing more than a 14-26 cassette in Shimano 8-speed. Does anybody make such an item, or is there a way to make my own?
Thanks.

What do you do? Ride uphill both ways?
Pretty sure you can. I did a 14-28 in 9-speed once. You can probably get the first position 14 from http://www.SheldonBrown.com or http://www.Branford bikes.com. Exactly what you can do with your 8-speed depends on what you've got to work with, how your cogs are assembled, which are individuals and which are fixed together, and if they can be separated.

If you can find a shop with old stock(We had a wall of cogs for building cassettes many years ago) or a shop that handles the single speed guys you should be able to get that setup with out to much trouble.

There is no "up" or "down" here. It's ALL flat. That's why the 14-26 range is what I asked for.
Here is another source for cogs, they seem to have a first position 14: http://aebike.com/page.cfm?action=list&PageID=30&Category=705&Brand=367&type=T

Thanks - may be academic - I found a 13-26 that's probably close enough.

Sure you can. When I was a junior racer, we had to make our own cassettes and freewheels to fit the gear restrictions. I wound up with 50/39 front rings and a 15,16,17,18,19,20,21,23 cassette on my 8 speed hubs, and even turned an older Sachs 7 spd hub into an 8 speed (new axle and spacers) with a custom built 8 speed freewheel for racing. Almost anything can be done, you just have to find the right parts.

Was the "cog board" really for cassettes or for freewheels? I remember many Sun Tour, Campy and Shimano freewheel cog boards but can't recall seeing one for any make of casette.
