I need to get a shock for a (Specialized FSR xc pro) frame that was sent as a replacement for a Rockhopper frame. They appairantly did not have a spair rockhopper available so they sent the upgraded FSR instead.
The frame is the same as the one in this auction but I'm not sure what size of frame it is, or if that even matters.

I know the rear of the shock can be mounted in two diff holes to change the travel if desired.
This bike is my girlfriends son so he (me) is on a limited budget. The shop that is fixing the bike has a used Fox Float with lockout for $250.00 but this is way beyond what is needed in this situation. I think a standard shock and spring would be fine, maybe a Vanilla or something close.
Any suggestions are welcome and more important is the length and travel of the shock and if it will fit.
Thanks in advance.
