Mountain Biking - Got in some new parts. Pics!!!!

First pic is before, second is after. Not a great pic though. Went from 30 to 33.5 pounds.
Just got in some new 36 hole rhynolite xl's w/xt hubs , avid bb5s and envy chainguide. Also the crank, and bb are about a week old, raceface evolve dh and evolve fr bb. Oh, and painted the stem.
The chainguide is basically a plate that bolts in place of the small ring like another inner bashguard. Haven't ridden it yet to see if it actually works well but I can get it into all the gears now without dropping the chain. Cost $30 and if it works and I don't have to spend $100 plus on a "real" chainguide, all the better. I had to machine it down a bit for it to fit and not hit the frame. That's one of the benefits of having a lathe at work.

Still might change out the fork someday or may just beat the crap out of it till it busts. Other than that, I hope I am done.
Damn happy with it though. :) The test ride shall tell all. Well, after the bakes are broken in anyway.

nice! I'm thinking about getting an 05 rumble. how much travel does that fork have? what do you think of the ride 9Iknow the head tub is pretty steep)

Thanks. I love the frame. At least you'd be getting the 05 with the replacable dropout. I have no clue why they machined the holes in drop outs of the 03.
The fork is just over 100mm of travel. The ride is great as it's set up now. I've herard that mountain cycle doesn't reccomend going over 120mm travel on the rumble.

They also have one that allows you to still use a granny, but you have to manually put it onto the ring. There is a good pic of that one on the site. Like I said though, you need decent frame clearance. I machined it down about an 1/8" and it is still maybe only 1/16" from rubbing the frame with some tweaking to make it run straight. May still rub under load.
I still have to ride it and see if it performs like a real changuide.

EDIT: one thing though. The site says that it has a bevelled inner edge to help with the chainline. This is wrong. It actually mounts the other way!!! It mounts flat on the chain side and the bevel is on the outside to help clear the chainstay.

HOT DAMN. Just got back from the first ride. Had to cut it short because the chainguird is still rubbing but managed to et it dirty anyway. Took my first look at the invoice though and they upgraded the brakes to bb7s. I was wondering what was going on and what adjustment the bb7 had that the bb5 didn't. Guess that explains it. Sweet!!!!
