Fifty Plus (50+) - Adding Counter to the Bicycle Rogue's Gallery?

Does anyone have an easy to add counter for the Bicycler 50+ Rogue's Gallery?

I have added counters before, but it involved an external URL and link and an ad of sorts.

I have no idea what that is, but it's probably a cool thing.

My question is, how come when I've read a thread, it doesn't get dimmed out anymore? I have to manually reload the page to get that. :cry:

The reason that you needed to add an external URL is that the counter needs a place to store the hits and add the totals--a database. When the page is viewed, the server records the view, adds it to the number stored, and displays it on the page. Because the storage of data is involved, the server must have that capability. When you subscribe to an counting service, everytime the page is viewed, they record it on their database and then send the latest number back to be viewed as part of your page. And of course the ad is the price of "free".

You should check with your web host and see if they provide the service--some do. If not you'll need to go with an outside count service.

Counter Added to very bottom of first page.

I started it at 500 hits which I would think is about the number of times you guys have hit it!

Things have been quiet for a day now. Are we done with new profiles and pics?
