Foo - The Holy Grail for those who dislike/struggle in algebra

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This is a fantastic website, and I feel like I've learned more in the 30 minutes studying it than the 2 weeks studying Logarithmic Functions in class.

That stuff is high school material.

It's algebra, obviously it's high school material. I'm also pretty sure phantom is in HS, and that most people on the planet couldn't solve a quadradic equation if their life depended on it.

Thanks for the source phantom, always good to have more resources.

The reason most people can't solve the quadratic equation is simply because once you're out of high school and inthe real world. YOU NEVER ****ING NEED It. I've developed complex software that has been capable of scaling thousands to hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users and I've never once had to use the quadratic equation. That is why, despite several years of memorizing it I have to look the formula up if i ever need it. Which aside from people saying, oh do you know the quadratic equation I never have.

The site however seems to be a great source albeit I feel it is badly presented.

also if once in your life you do need your quadratic equation most new TI graphing calculators have a program called polysolver, but dont tell my math teacher that.

[D]espite several years of memorizing it I have to look the formula up if i ever need it.
Don't memorize formulas. Memorize methods.

Formula for solving quadratic equations = ...I forget.
Method for solving quadratic equations = complete the square.
