Hey all,

I'm moving to TX this summer, and since I won't be stuck in a city, I'm getting me a mtn bike to add to the collection. Since the last mtb I had was a 21 speed huffy when I was in middle school, I don't know much about some of this stuff. . . but I've been reading. So, basically, I just need some sugesstions for forks. I've got my heart set on an On-One geared 456, but which fork? I was thinking the Magura Ronin, or the Rock Shox Reba. . . but the Maverick forks look so nice. . . okay, any sugesstions welcome, and please forgive my relative lack of knowledge. . . thanks in advance

oh yeah, I prob won't be racing this, so a nice all-around fork (if there is such a thing) is what I'm looking for

I hear the Reba is a nice fork, don't know much about the others.

thanks about the reba. . . heard nothing but good things about that too. . . but does the Reba suit more XC than TRAIL/All-Mountain purposes (if those can indeed be considered one in the same)? And as another not, is 6" considered "too much" for an all-mountain setup?

In my mind AM rigs usually go up to 5" F&R but for some aggressive AM I'd say 6" would be fine.

what part of texas are you moving too? sorry i got off topic, depending on your budget take a look at some of the fox forks, they are great

Magura is just releasing a new line of forks, so you could probably get a good deal on a ronin. I can vouch for magura components in general, i've been using a phaon for the past 6/7 months and their brakes are good (if ugly), but have not used the ronin in particular. Some people say the ronin is a bit sticky, but that could just mean that they don't maintain it properly. I consistently hear good things about the reba as well.
