I have a pair of the standard Crank bros. "eggbeater" pedals that I took off another salvaged bike. Considering putting them on my bent. (I'd have to buy cleats)
Seems like they would be well suited for this, as the small support area shouldn't be a big consideration on the non-weight-bearing bent riding position.
Anyone have any experience with these?

I'm hoping to get some for my trike by the end of the year. My most accounts, people are quite pleased with them. The only downsides are that you cann't ride with regular shoes, and that you need a pretty stiff sole on your riding shoes.

I have the stainless steel eggbeaters on my KMX and after 20 miles my right foot begins to feel a little numb. This has happened while wearing my Lake boots or my Shimano sandals. I have the titanium quatros on my Scorpion and my foot has never felt numb yet. There may be other factors involved, but I would have to switch pedals on my trikes to make a final determination that they were the cause.

It could be a number of things, including BB to seat height ratio, boom length, or even the shoes themselves.

I have stainless eggbeaters and love them.

The pedal area is not a big deal if you have stiff shoes.
Much easier to get into and out of than LOOK's, and the entry/exit pivot point is on the ball of your foot, not at the toe like SPD's.

Last time I was in the Performance Bike store, I saw some plastic "Flat Pedal Adapters" for Eggbeaters. Wierd, but handy if you want to ride with normal shoes.

eggbeaters (in the way of quattros) were what I started with. They just aren't that great. Bebops are the absolute tops in my opinion, after having looked at and tried so many pairs.

I've tried seveal pedals and keep coming back to Eggbeaters on both my wedgies and my bent. I used to have some hot spot problems but they went away when I got some proper fitted shoes. (Wide)
