Rivendale sells these Dia-Tech Bar-end Shifter Mounts and they say they will work with most downtube shifters. I want to know if they work with Shimano 600 shifters? Anyone know?

Also I dont want to buy something some Rivendale anyone know where to find them other that Rivendale?

I'm curious as to why you are so against Rivendell?
what formed your opinions on them?
Grants philosophy?
bad experience buying a bike?

I've been trying to find out if those bar end shifter mounts will work with Simplex Retrofrictions. I've posted the question here and I've emailed Rivendell. Nobody seems to know. My guess is that they will work, but the only sure way to find out is to buy the parts and try it. I keep losing ebay auctions for the shifters because I don't want to pay more than $20 for them.

Too cockey. They act like they have all the answers to every problem ever. I also dont care for their asthetics.
They try and discredit other manufactures and technology often.

I got the 600 shifters to work with my bar-end pods. I think its important to point out that if you want to convert Shimano indexing downtube shifters to barend shifters you need the small base plate that comes with shimano bar-end shifters.

If you want the Diatech shifter pods, Rivendell is the place that has them. The pods were custom ordered by Rivendell (i.e., Rivendell paid for the tooling setup and is almost certainly the exclusive source). So, annoying as Rivendell can be at times, you can thank them that the pods are available at all.

I actually like the fact that Grant and co. have the conviction to stand by
their philosophy, not that I necessarily agree with them all the time.

thanks for the response, I was curious if it was somethng like that.

Like I said before those shift pods wont really work if you want to convert indexing downtube shifters. But the Shimano bar-end shifter pods worked.
