I am not too thrilled with the Kore riser bar and stem that I fitted my frame build with........ must be why it was $28 on closeout. Anyway, I am possibly looking at the Syntace VRO since it has so much adjustability. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this unit?

Go with a Thomson. They are simply the best stems out there. Havnt you seen the pic of one holding the weight of a car? They are incredibly strong and at the same time light.

No Raiyn I havnt seen the Race Face. I dont catch myself looking at stems too often. Im perfectly happy with my Thomson, but Im gonna go check out the Race Face and fill myself with envy. If it impresses me enough maybe it will be fit for my new ride :)

It is amazing how someone can ask for a review on one product and get all kinds of advise on other products and even spark a little conflict or two.

Theres no conflict here at all. We are just trying to be helpful by telling you about products we have tried and heard about that would be good for your bike. I mean I have a Thomson stem and love it. If someone is asking a question about what a good stem would be I would mention my Thomson because my experience with the product has been positive. And as far as drifting off topic, it is just like any conversation; stays on the topic, and as the conversation proceeds, the topic branches out into different areas and ideas. And since this conversation is online is a little more difficult to stay on topic. I dont mean to be confrontational by saying this, but just want to express myself.
*UPDATE*
After a gawking session at the Race Face website I will be fitting my new bike (eventually) with a RF Deus. Man that stem looks SWEEEET. I have a weakness for shiny silver things:p
I have been looking at that bar/stem combo for $24. Why don't you like it?

What about the Kore is less than thrilling?
Unless they don't give you the right reach to the bars, the Kore should work just fine. The Syntace system is a nice solution to a problem that shouldn't exist. Unless your upper body dimensions change drastically and often, you shouldn't need to adjust the bar and stem if you start out with the right size.

The bend of the bar just seemed really uncomfortable. Even though I could not find a review, I went ahead and purchased the Syntace VRO and really like it. I was able to find the ideal positioning right away and there is alot less flex than in the Kore setup, here is an installed view of the Syntace;
So now you have a Kore bar and stem that you want to get rid of super cheap?
:)

No, I will keep it around to throw on the Komodo if I ever sell it and keep the Syntace for my next ride.
