Just so y'all understand the ramifications of this ... When I was 19 I t-boned a rider who fell right in front of me. I was riding an old badged steel Cinelli stem of this same design and can show you the shape of the apex in a six-inch long gouge it left on my sternum. The surgeon said that with a pair of rib spreaders I was all ready for a coronary bypass. These things are not particularly safe and for those who care, these are not NJS. (Now that really killed the interest in it, didn't it????)

I dont think you understand, most people walk there track bikes in the big cities these days. And I am pretty sure most the kids(dolface) walk the **** out of there sweet NJS garbage.

No, it just upped the interest 5fold. If Molly from Neuromancer rode a track bike, that'd be her stem.

The judges would have also accepted a "Virtual Light/Idoru/All Tomorrow's Parties" reference.

Edit: Oh, oh ... I'm hearing word that "Snowcrash" would also be a valid reference.

Yeah, but only if the stem were made of glass.

Yeah, but only if the stem were made of glass.

I wonder if it would be possible to make bike parts out of super strong clear acrylics... That would be awesome looking.

Oh... Not another degeneration into SciFi references...

.. actually, that's fine with me. I mean, I saw the pic, I can't get one what more do I need out of a stem?

That IS hot looking, but if you can't find that you can always get Jonny, or Johnny (Kendziera or Coast) to make you one.

Wouldn't Molly's stem be made of corrugated cardboard to match her bike?

You're thinking of Chevette.

Molly's stem would match her finger nails (Girls are good at that styling thing), which were RAZORS.

Someone should ps a stem with a tri-flow filled hypodermic needle. Just cos.

i've got a coast stem (and frame) coming sometime in the next week (hopefully) that looks just like that one.

i've been thinking about how much it would hurt to smash my nads into that edge and am kind of psyching myself out. not that i've ever done that, but still...

i need one of those "nard guards" they used to put on mountain bikes.

All it takes is once, and you'll be singin' soprano for the rest of your days

Not that I wanna psyche you out even worse so you'll sell that stem to me real cheap or anything ;)

as anarcho said, it was chevette, and her bike was made out of carbon fiber wrapped around a paper core (it had brakes too)

Wait, nads? My only possible danger is cracking open my skull on a final O2 starved push.

How the hell does one's package come anywhere near the stem on a track bike?

Listen here Mr. Brakeless Medici... When do you want that Tomasini fork? I can give it to you whenever, and then we can work out the trade/whatnot whenever, so you can actually ride that thing on days other than Sundays.
