Has anyone tried these? How do they work? How do they compare to the candies? Are they much better than the plain ol eggbeaters?

I rode a pair the other day, def better looking than the candies when on a road bike. But as for function, I think the candies feel the same.

I'm certainly not above buying something for asthetic value...

I just heard 3 people say they like them at our club meeting. Only downside seems to be "They don't work well in the mud". well there you go..

Got a pair on the fixed gear. So far, so good. DA whatever on the road bike so can't really compare to regular eggbeaters. Pretty much just got the quattros for two reasons. Wanted double sided entry for the fixed and I thought they looked good. Bite me for chosing on cosmetics. But, like I said, no complaints. Only caveat, if you run mtb shoes, you'll need to dremel/x-acto the treads to clear the spindle area.
