Hi all,
first of all, a thank you for the welcome from Spire.
Well, I'm 33 and used to ride on a commuting/touring bike built up from a no-name Renyolds 531 frame back home. Haven't cycled on a regular basis for around ten years now since working here in Hong Kong.
Now I'm considering buying a new bike (a case of an early onset midlife crisis syndrome maybe?) to do some commuting and a bit of weekend off road-warrior fun. The only problem would be for choosing a suitable ride. After lurking in this forum for a while, I've narrow my choice down to a hardtail. If I didn't need to do road mileages then probably would have considered a full susser as well.
Since it'll have to be my do everything bike I was thinking something along the lines of a Specialized Stumpjumper or an Orange Evo2. I would also rather spend a wee bit more in the beginning than spend even more later on in upgrades. Any other recommendations, or advice would be well appreciated.
