I purchased an old Bianchi and find I need to raise the seatpost higher than the limit mark. Will this damage the frame? To purchase another seatpost I need to know who makes the longest post and what is its length. Also, what is the width?

Post will have diameter marked on it or measure the old one.You don't want the longest one you can get because sometimes they will not go in the frame far enough. Get one that is enough longer than what you have to do the job.
