Don't get the Shadow chain, I had one for like 6 months then all the sudden the spins started to slide out, and links broke every other day, I suggest the KMC 510HX(AKA the Dropbuster). As for pedals, I suggest Odyssey Cielencki pedals(but a lot of people ride Tenderizers as well, so they're fine). The stem, I suggest S&M Redneck XLT, but again I know a lot of people with the Hi-def so that would be okay too. I personally don't like how it looks, or the wrap around clamp design.

Chain: KMC 510hx (Looks cleaner than the Shadow, and everyone seems to have problems with the Shadow, i broke my freinds a while back on a missed Sprocket slide...)

Pedals: Odyssey JC's (either the Mg ones or the Alum.) or Wellgo Mg-52's there super nice.

Stem: S&M Redneck (any version, XLT, LT, or the OG) Fit S3's as well...

They make light (magnesium)versions too.

Built like a freakin' tank!

True.
My freind had those pedals before he got JC's and they are SUPER grippy, and almost scary to ride in with shorts haha.

People think that weight is like this deathining thing that happens to their bikes...

Think about it, about 2-3 years ago Dave Mirra (one of the most popular, and best bikers) rode a 40 pound bike and had no trouble flying 12 feet above Halfpipes...

So having a bike that is heavy isnt the end of the world.

As for the Elementary stem, i hear the slip a bit when you first get them, and then the do okay, but i would much prefer my Rednect Lt or a Fit S3

i find that their designs are just boring really compared to the elementary stem. especially with thier new colours!

If the Redneck stem has a boring design, then why did half of the industry copy it?

And though its boring, my Redneck LT has NEVER slipped.
Never.

Yeah, the IC's grip like none other.

Elementary slipping...never happened to 220lb me. I didn't use the stubby allen wrench it came with though. I used a longer one to get enough torque.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm sure the slipping is from operator error (no tightened enough). I'd bet my left testicle that mine (adequately tightened) will NEVER slip.

Yup.

I just prefer cleaner looking conventional stems, like the S3 and Rednecks...

I came VERY close to getting the Redneck XLT. I just happened to see the Ody for $52 with gyro tabs & was sold.

Just don't use the stubby Allen wrench that comes with it (unless you slide a short steel pipe over it to get better leverage).
