I'd have to go with Fear Factory. I know they've been around awhile, but that's my favorite "modern" metal band. I like Mastodon a lot, too. Their musicianship is insane!

I love Fear Factory, they totally count. Mastodon are my boys from the ATL, but even if they weren't, Leviathan decimates everything in its path!:beer:

Dunno how Metal he's considered, but Alice Cooper from his Brutal Planet/Dragontown era rocks me nicely.

I don't know if Rammstien counts, but they are more modern than most of my favorite metal bands, which for all intents and purposed died in the 80's. Like Metallica. Also Pantera was pretty cool, but we all know about that tradjedy. I just have a hard time getting into any main stream modern metal because it all seems to suck. Then again, every radio station in Detroit bites the big one ever since 101.1 WRIF drove Ted Nugents 102.7 the Bear station out of town, and I have very few post 20th century albums, so I suppose I'm underqualified to complain.

Stomp. Those people who bang trash can lids and pipes and metal bars and such. THAT is a heavy metal band, all the others use instruments.:D
