Recently, while on a smoke break, I saw a guy coming our of our Park Ave building with a folding bike I've never seen before (it would fold 'vertically', instead of 'horizonally').. He had a briefcase/laptop carrying case that he attached to the front of the bike, and took off.

I was wandering if such things were made specific to that bike, or if one can buy 'em elsewhere. I searched ebay, and only found a bag attachable to the wheel, and bags attachable to a bike rack, which my DownTube FS is lacking.

Thanks for any pointers in advance.

The Brompton is the only bike I can think of with front mounted luggage. Check their website and see if it could have been that:

Some people have modified Birdys and other bikes to take the Brompton luggage mounting block, but that requires brazing or welding a small piece of metal to the frame, drilling and tapping it appropriately.

There's also the Klickfix system.
