I've been waiting for a new dual use path (pedestrian / cyclist) to open for months and it's finally ready for use.
I have been commuting past it watching it getting closer and closer to completion and I can finally ride on it.
The path runs alongside a railway line for several kilometres and lets me eliminate a couple of nasty squeeze points, a tricky side road or two and an awful intersection with traffic lights.
The surface is good and fast and the path is wide enough to cope with quite a lot of traffic.
It was a much less stressful ride into work today.
