Hi, im about a 5-6'5-7 teenager who is looking for a new frame. Doctor said i should be about 6'0 max. I was wodnering if compact or classic sizing is better for me. I found that compact has a faster feeling and found the classic sizing somewhat slow. I had an old klein quantum but recently it cracked and looking for sa new frame. I was lookin at maybe a Giro frame or something.
Thanks
You won't know which is best until you have put quite a few miles on each. What ever bike/frame you choose, don't be a fashion slave. Pick something that feels right, no solely because it 'looks' right. As you grow, things will change for you, so what fits now, won't fit tomorrow. Perhaps something used will work for the time being. By then your opinions will be more correct than they are now.
You need to stop by a knowledgeable shop and throw your leg over a few frames.
Concern yourself with the top tube lenght. Forget seat tube. If you find yourself comfortable on all positions of the bar, go with that size. Measure the top tube so you have an idea of the size to look for.
