I'm thinking about sending out community update emails weekly, rather then monthly (yes, i know i missed the last two months!). Just looking for any feedback before i start.

I joined the forums in 1999 and then didn't even visit the site for over a year.
It was the Community Updates that made me think about having another look and I got hooked. I spotted a couple of threads that interested me and I wanted to explore.
The Updates are a great reminder of what we're up to and I think they will create more traffic to the site. Hopefully we'll see a few old faces posting again too.

I think it would be a good thing to get those it would help some of us newbies keep track of the new posts. I do have sort of a related problem how do I shut off the email alerts to threads I have subscribed to I seem to have unchecked the box but I am still getting them sometimes to the tune of 50 or more a day!
I have been here since the beginning (approximately), but have never seen one of these. Was it something I said?
Cheers...Gary

Have never gotten one, and don't need one.
Perhaps some sort of sorting system so they go to folks who have not posted for xx number of months.
Would just clutter up my already overflowing mailbox.
By the way, Joe, I still can't vote from AOL. I have to use IE.
I'm on BF every weekday from about 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and occasionally on the weekend. I see or read all the posts I'm interested in. But I must confess that there have been some that I would have missed and that I enjoyed reading and/or replying to if I hadn't seen the title in Joe's email.
So if it's not too much trouble I'd like to continue receiving it.

in your profile, change "Use email notification by default" from Yes, to No.
The community updates are easy to unsubscribe from. If you dont like reciving them, theres an option to turn them off in your user control panel (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?s=&action=editoptions). If you have never recived an community update, change the "Receive Community Bulletin Email?" option to Yes.

I think weekly is a bit overkill, I suggest just doing it on a monthly basis. This will give you more time to ride!

BTW, the donation link wasn't working last time I tried.

Thanks for voting, it only takes about 15 minutes to send out the community update emails. I think i will try weekly, I really think it could pull back alot of members.
