I've been looking at some similar human powered vehicles.

From what I found thus far, they are good on the open flats, but like most recumbents, they are less lovely on hills or stop-n-go cities.

I would like to get one with an electric motor assist which is available on most models.

My ultimate fantasy is to mount a wind generator on my garage and use it to power the battery for an electric bike or human:confused: powered vehicle.

Looks like it would be terribly hot on a sunny summer day.

The Google translation of the mfg. page for the Go-One is:

http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kunststoff-beyss.de%2F&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en

Enjoy!

How about another Go-One site translated into English by a HUMAN:

http://www.go-one.de/ukindex.shtml

It does look very cool. My only problems with it would be the weight and (of course) the $$$. I think I'll stick with the road bike.

In the USA, a Twike, a similar "human powered vehicle," is being held by US customs because it is not safety-approved by the NHTSA. Apparently an owner of another one of these Twikes here in Vermont, USA has stopped using his because of the controversy. Something for USAers to think about before buying one of these!!! :) See http://www.ihpva.org/.../000717.html (http://www.ihpva.org/pipermail/velomobile/2002-October/000717.html)

For an article about the Twike fiasco here in Maine, take a peek at:

Pretty sad commentary on how warped our public sector can be.

Ah...did not see your link to the ihpa mailing list archives. The ihpa post was by Ethan Davis, the same person who created and maintains the web site I posted in the previous message.

Now I have to wonder if Corbin Motors has passed all the National certifications for its Sparrow, which customs seems to be imposing on this poor Twike. I know the Sparrow is registered as a motorcycle.

This case is a head shaker for sure.

Hi; I have been exchanging email with the US rep for the Go-One. The US site is now up and running and can be found at:

http://www.go-one.biz

which is really just a re-direct for the UK version of the German site.

Steve Stout is the person I have been conversing with and he has been very helpful and quick to respond to all my questions.

Only 30 of the Go-One 2's were made, none of them making it to the US. They are planning and hoping to make a lot more Go-One 3's. Three of these are currently enroute to the US and four more are being built for US customers. They try to get 10 units before shipping to the US as 10 fit in a single cargo container.

The base model is $7,000 and any shipping cost from New York City. This is a lot of money, but not so bad if it replaces a car, which is my plan.

I meant to mention in my last post a web page I found, which as a good directory of velomobiles such as the Go-One and various styles of trikes. It can be found at:
