Bicycle Mechanics - Touch-up Paint / Sticker Gunk

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This may be better suited in the frame builder's page, but I just got a late 70's Gitane in reasonably good shape. I have taken the tasteless frech chrome stickers off, but now have the glue gunk remaining. What is the best way to remove this w/o ruining the paint finish?
Second qeustion: I need to touch-up some paint chips. What is the best way to match the paint (sort-of a sun burst red/orange) and then apply it??
Thanks!!

Took the "Sport" racing stripes off of a '95 Ford Pickup with Goo-Gone+hair dryer. No damage.

Go Gone or WD-40.
Lighter fluid is my favorite.

Kerosene or WD-40 (same thing but with a little lube). Avoid acetone. It will take off the goo but probably take off the paint too.
