I have taken the worn cones to two very trusted LBSs, who have always helped me in the past, even with Kona hubs, however, both said they could find matching cones for the Ritchey hubs.

I have contacted Ritchey on numerous occasions, for other questions as well, and have yet to receive a single reply.

I am wondering if anyone, especially LBS mechanics know a good source for these cones, or even know who makes them. I saw that Wheels Manufacturing has a "Taiwanese Compatible" cone selector, but I would like to confirm that I need those, before I buy the kit. They are definitely not Shimano compatible.

The rear hub does something very strange, it uses 9, 1/4" bearings on the drive side, and 11, 3/16" bearings on the other.

Contact Bike Tools Etc and The Third Hand. They carry a wide range of parts and may be able to match the cones or provide a "will fit" that will work.

The odd bearing arrangement is new to me too. All the rear hubs I've seen use 9x1/4" balls on both sides.

For what it's worth, I've attached a picture with all dimensions, just in case someone from a shop is very in tune with their cone supplies.

They are 10 mm X 1 mm threaded.

your best bet would be to have your LBS call up ritchey's customer service line and have them send out new cones for your wheel. if they didn't respond to you, they will respond to your LBS...usually within a day or so.

Thanks OTS, it's actually the front hub I'm more concerned about now, I repacked the rear. The cones in the rear were almost perfect. The front cones are very pitted. The rear hub is the same one as the in the link, it's just laced to an OCR Rock Pro Rim.

Someone suggested finding a whole new axle, perhaps a Shimano one. Would this work? I always thought that the new race could interfere with the old race in the hub? I'm probably wrong.
