rock shox judy J1...this just started, if i pull the front up off the ground when im riding it makes a 'clank' noise....hmm i dunno how to put this in words without showing it you know? when i pull the front off the ground the fork makes a weird noise like a quick clank (metal hitting metal), then when the front hits the ground again it makes the same noise...anyone?

are there bolts on the bottom of those fork legs? i am not familiar with the model. is it definitely coming from the fork?

tentatively, it sounds like the internal dampening rod , or whatever structure it has inside, is loose from either the fork cap or bottom leg

Do you have sag? It might be your fork rebounding back to full length.

if it is an air fork then im guessing it doesnt have enough air pressure, and its topping out. I have a manitou sherman slider and it was doing the same thing, i took it all appart put it back together and it wasnt any different, then i read in the online manual it said it needed at least 40lbs air pressure in it, at about 30lbs it stopped making the topout clanking noise. Hopefully this helps.
