Anyone ever used the Polar 710 HR monitor, I believe it also shows wattage?
Is this accurate?

I use the Polar S710 but I do not have the Power Kit which allows wattage to be measured.
For wattage, it is never possible to be accurate to the micro-watts. While it roughly guages the wattage, it is the possibility for error. Anything has the ability to alter the wattage that is measured. It should be able to with errors not being larger than 10 watts.
It is very useful to be used to guage your power output against your heart rate, which would be what you should be using most of the time.
There are very few equipments that are able to measure the power output when you are riding on the road. Others would be like the SRM, which Lance Armstrong uses.
Here's the link to the SRM website :

Thanks for the info.
I have looked into SRM and the power tap but the polar HR seems to be the chepest option.
10 watts doesn't sound to bad so long as its consistently 10watts out.
thanks again stu
