umm....
put a thompson seatpost and stem on my stumpy... as well as avid mechanical disks and mavic cross-rides with a tube...

my dream bike would be something that could go everywhere and do everything

So basically my three main choices for a dream bike would be the SC Blur, Titus Switchblade(god i love 4-bar) and an ellsworth truth.

I'd probably end up with the switchblade

I could tell by the Gyro :D...When I buy a dually I will be converting my bike to a similar setup. That is one sweet bike (except for the hayes mech's but that my personal bane in life). :)

Mine will be general and simple.

Preferably full sus frame, carbon fibre:)
Shimano LX will do.
Rox Shox Judi XC front fork( what I have now)
not too sure about the rear shox
Avid Mech Disc Brakes( what I have now)

.... and most importantly it's got to be below 12kg. All along I have had heavy bikes and I really hope to get a light one.

I really wish there is a way to switch from road tires to off road tires more easily, so I can go for long road trips and have a bit of extra fun.

Maelstrom - yeah the mech is because they haven't invented a hydro gyro that works well yet, when they do, i will be sure to get one:D

As for my dream bike (since I keep posting but never post the bike) would be a Either a Stinky Deelux with a lifetime warranty or a Cove G-spot. Parts are irrelevant. Generally LX to XT everything Never Xtr. Maybe Xtx if it is as good as claimed and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I love my fork a z1 fr but if I went triple clamp I really don't know cause I don't currently care. Mavic 321d rims, the tires are irrelevant as it depends on terrain. I won't do tubeless. Stem would be the race face one with flames (the name slips my head). Handlebar would be the best for the best price. I am not a brand specific person can you tell? :) Oh an Hayes hydros accross the board.

Then I would turn my roast into the pornking above and use it for dj and urban only.

Do they make carbon fibre full sus. Would that be trustworthy. In order to make carbon strong they need to thread it so the direction of impact is matched by the carbon part. If a big hit or another direction torques it in a way that the carbon part wasn't designed for then it is very brittle. On a dually (which I assume you would be using for bigger hits than a curb) that stress is from every direction and constant. I would be scared beepless :)..

First of all, the Race Face stem is the Diablos! And I want one too!

Secondly, yes they make carbon full suspension, just not for the type of riding you do! Trek makes an OCLV with a suspension link similar to the Fuel. Cannondale used to make the Raven. They now have the Scalpel which has carbon chainstays. Trek and Gary Fisher have carbon stays on their top end full suspension bikes (Fuel 90, Sugar 1). I'm sure there are more companies that make carbon bikes. Kestrel is another one I know of!

As far as my dream bike, it would definately be a freeride bike. Very similar to the one I currently have with only minor mods:

Frame: Intense Uzzi SLX (I currently have the SL model-which rocks!)
Fork: Marzocchi Z-1 or Shiver SC or DJ1, whichever it must have the 20mm thru axle. (I have a RS Psylo, but prefer Marzocchi's)
Hubs: Profile hubs or Chris King ISO. I'm using the Profile's right now and they're great!
Rims: Either D321 (using now!) or some AtomLab Trail???(Kings or Pimps, I can never remember the difference!)
Cranks: Profile's (using now and will never go back to alum.)
Rings: Race Face, double with a bash ring! (Currently using a triple, but I'm ordering a bash ring soon!)
Pedals: Currently runnin Shimano 545's, and will get some Atom Lab TrailKings for technical trails.
Seatpost: Thomson Elite. There is no better post!
Seat: Whatever is on sale!
Stem: As mentioned, Race Face Diablos.
Headset: Chris King of course!
Bars: Toss up. I'm using some Monkeylites and have 0 complaints with them, so I'd stick with them! I might switch to the Scandium ones if my Monkeylites break!
Grips: ODI lock-ons! These things never slip!
Shifters: Shimano XTR.
Derailleurs: Front XTR, rear ??? whatever is on sale! (Using XTR right now!)
Cassette: Shimano XT level
Chain: Sram PC69 w/Power link (Have NEVER had one come apart!)
Tires: Depending on terrain, but the Intense, System 2 are good all arounders. Maxxis tires are held in high regard as well.

Dude I really need to sell my Diabolus, its mint (a few TINY paint blemishes) and I am only asking $60+ship. 70mm, black. I cant use it because the bar that came on my bighit is oversized.

too expensive and I don't see a benefit...its funny but I never get flats...I don't know why...if I lived in a different area possibly...

Unless your a pro racer, theres no need for tubeless. Clinchers would be much easier to repair.
