Where, pray tell, were you riding?!

In an industrial area near my home. It was in a vacant lot. I suspect it either fell out of a truck or a frustrated roofer decided to chuck it all.

So a ride doubles as a scrounging trip? No wonder 3mph is your top. bk

Yes, that is my top performance... must stop often but... mph is up 33%!

 Good find. Theres gotta be a really pissed off roofer somewhere along your route.

Uh...keep your eyes open, I'm looking for a large blacksmiths anvil and a circa 1845 cider press. :p

I found a baseball on my ride today with a few grass stains on it.

I passed by one today because I was tired, and would have had to gone around the block and into the rec center to fish it out of the grass near the fence. Plus, some kid will find it anyway and put it to better use.

Oh, I have a good use in mind. There are people who like to drive down our street late at night with their bass playing so loudly it rattles dishes in the cupboard. A well thrown baseball from my second floor balcony might release some of my frustrations. It will go further than an egg.

Sounds like you had a good day. Tomorrow it might be another mile and a cute roofer babe looking for her belt. :D

Don't do it on the bike- but wife and I often go to the beach and she collects Stones for the garden,. Just one or two at a time but she is very particular about the colour and size. I do the same (collecting stones) but I fill my pockets up with 1/2" round pebbles. Just right for the catapult to get rid of the squirrels. They also put dents in cars roofs, as I have found out. Might also work on the car noise.

Regarding useful stuff on the road, I refer you guys to my post in the Touring forum relative to Detritus of the Road or Touring. I am currently hoping to find enough sockets to complete the ratchet and extension I have found.
