Hi Everyone,

I would like to do a bike tour with a friend this Fall. I live in NJ and would like to pick an area within a days drive from here so I was thinking NY State or New England. I've never done anything like this but I did do the MS 170 last weekend with no problem so I'm not concerned about the mileage.

Here's what I want

About a week trip
approx 60 miles a day
Hotels/B&B's for the night
Pretty scenery

Does any one have any suggestions about specific tours or books I could look at or possibly web sites with routes planned out?

Also, any suggestions in general about this kind of trip. What to bring? What about rest days? How many spares do I need, etc.

Thanks for you advice!

I'm going on my first tour in Northern Pa. the end of September.

(about a day's drive from you.) It's only 2 days, but 60 miles each day. The best thing is, it's really well organized, supported and CHEAP. All meals transportation and sag are free. The only thing you have to pay is lodging. It's an annual tour with about 600 riders (one of them is the Governor of the state). Here's the web site to learn more. http://www.keystoneride.com/

I'm all signed up and have more details, so If you want to talk to me about it, email me at mike_reedich@yahoo.com.

Hey, you had me fooled with the "North East". I was ready to suggest routes from Aberdeen and B& B's in Aboyne, with perhaps a detour to Braemar.:)
