The back rim on my bike decided to start splitting apart at the seam.. I didn't notice until it went flat and I went to change the tube.. I just put some electrical tape over it to keep it from poking the tire, but is it dangerous to ride it that way? Will it keep splitting and fall apart all at once? I've never had a wheel do this, so I don't know.

get a new rim as soon as possible. it will last a few weeks as long as you don't nosestack too bad on anything
Thanks, I'll try to find a new one before too long.
I'd not ride again until you get one. Crashing sucks. Getting hurt sucks harder.

My rim had the same problem, I still rode it for two weeks till I could aford a new rim.
I'm the head of household. People depend on me. Not worth the risk.
