Thinking about a Campy singlespeed. I have an old Veloce crank and a set of Record wheels, originally 5 speed. They're going into an old Schwinn Prelude frame with 126mm spacing until I can afford something better. Has anyone ever used a Campy crank on their single/fixed? Campy has a very limited BB selection only 102, 111 and 115mm. Before I buy the BB I want to be sure the chainline is correct or close.

I would bet you will have no problems respacing the rear to match the chainring. Check for the marking on the campy axle - expect second number to be 120 or 126 - it is the rear width the axle (and matching cranks) are intended for. 102mm long axles are for Record and modern Chorus road cranks only.

Track specific since C-record era is 109mm long axle marked xx-SC-120.

Thanks for the information. I like Campy much better than Shimano. Shimano has a much better selection of BB's though.

I have veloce cranks on my conversion, and 126 mm spacing. I ordered hubs spaced for 130, and respaced them to 126 with 3mm of offset to the drive side, and my chainline is perfect. I have a 111 mm BB.

[edit] I redished the rear wheel too.

I've used sub-chorus double cranks (centaur, veloce, xenon...) with chorus and record 102mm BB. That combo achieved about a 43.5mm chainline with a TA specialite 1/8 chainring.

111 + Veloce double + Suzue basic flip flop worked for me once. "Cold set" to 120mm.
