Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Leave me a message

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
There's a dry-erase board on my bike. If you know where that is, leave me a message.

is there a marker, or do i need to bring my own?
is there a prize, or just online fame?

I dunno...but I'm gonna go down & check it for lunch real soon.
There's a marker provided.

someone just ran off with the marker, huffing wildly. Next time, consider chalk. It is less addictive...
ps - cool idea!
i'm a few states away, otherwise i would leave a message at lunch on this nice sunny day.
two messages so far. One from someone I know who was making a delivery, one anonymous one from someone who has "admired my bike for a while".
I painted the top tube of my work ride with chalkboard paint and have some chalk in a cork bar plug. Great for taking notes on the road and scheduling routes.

Can I see a pic of this whiteboard setup? I am having a hard time imagining it. Thanks.

i have dry erase markers, but no white board...is yours locked securely?
the board & marker are attached with string & packing tape. String is wrapped around the top tube and taped to the back of the board. "Securely" wouldn't quite describe it, unless my only fear is that it might blow off my bike in a strong gust of wind...

If I was in town i'd write 'C U Next Tuesday!'
You'd better come to Sydney (http://www.sydbma.org)you martha stewart button-pushin, mouse waving, bikeophile!
what if it rains?
If it rains I lose all of my messages and can't write on it for a while...which has made the gimmick next to useless for the last two months. Will probably be much better from here on out. My niece is also very excited whenever I visit, because she gets to draw all over my bike without me getting upset.

Now I have something on my list to steal tommorrow.;)
ok, that was hilarious. Leaving work today, I find many more messages on my bike. They were touching, threatening, and insulting:
"CONJO I KILL YOU"
"1 Fried rice, 2 Veggie Roll, 1 noodles"
"You = Jerkass"
I love you guys. But not just for that. Also for the seat + toptube wrapped in toilet paper, several cheap & ****ty CDs ziptied to my handlebars and seatstays, softcore porn and phone sex ads in my spokes, and the stuffed tiger ziptied to my stem. Here's a picture of the little guy:

Whoever did this (and I feel that I have a pretty good idea who did).....that was awesome.

I would just get profanity, or a note like "move your bike, it's blocking the sidewalk".

instead of leavinng a "youve been bumbiked" callinng card.. did they leave one that says "youve been burning man raver biked"?
I b'leeve that's a Mark V. So no. Threadless.
Just hope no one leaves a "This bike is a pipebomb" message...

the local authorities took offense to his frequent alleycat victories.
'sir, you are stealing all the glory from the locals... i'm going to have to ask you to leave the country'
what can you say... he does come from a country of convicts... (i can say that being from there too, as largely untrue as it is)
