Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Simple question. I know there's the Thompson, but who else makes an aesthetically-pleasing non-offset seatpost in 27.2? Silver or black, road or mtn, doesn't matter.

Dave-
Although exhorbitantly expensive, I'm a big fan of the Tune design for non-offset posts:

I seem to recall other manufacturers using this design, but couldn't find anything off the bat. I'll post (pun intended) if I find anything.

The older logo was better though.

an old ringle moby (http://www.bikepro.com/products/seatposts/ringle.html) seatpost would really add some pizazz to your bike.

Those seatposts are kinda nice and all. But what bugs me is the glued nature of carbon posts and the pricey as shiat nature of a lot of the one piecers.
Well not necessarily very sexy, the Kalloy Guizzo seat post is the absolute best bang for the buck. 45 dollars for a one piece (no glued head onto the shaft) 2 bolt seatpost design.

The Post Moderne Smica seatpost is a cheaper option - look for it on Wiggle (UK webshop) and you will see that it has good reviews. Here is a link but it doesn't go straight to the right post http://www.wiggle.co.uk/Default.aspx?Main=Manufacturer.aspx&W=0&Cat=cycle&Manufacturer=Post%20Moderne&CategoryName=Seat%20Posts
I've got the older version with nastier logos, but I took them off and now it looks good and does the job.
from that link for the Ringle:
. It is available in most the RingleŽ colors; Blue, Black, pewter Grey, 3DV Lavender, Red, Silver and Tie-Die.

How 'bout this? http://www.bike-x-perts.com/en/product_info.php/products_id/127194/
It looks way better than that in life (and other pics). One-piece, sexy as it gets, and mine actually weighs ~180-190 g at 350 mm, way less than the official figure. (The company is German, though...)
As to the original question: no idea. (Helpful, ain't I?)

Doesn't get any sexier. Only 86 grams. Price? 220 pounds.

It's normal setback -- if you have one, you'll notice that the way the seatpost curves is actually the same as any normal setback.

Ah-ha. I thought AX Lightness used a similar design as the Tune. Come to think... so does M2Racer.
Not that it really helps ;)
EDIT: If you can find them on eBay, old Kooka and some IRD posts are similar.

Kinda ugly, but it is in fact, a very very comfortable post. I thought it was hokey at first, but it really does absorb high frequency vibrations. I use it on my roadbike. The fix doesn't get any carbon.

i'll sell you mine, i don't really like it... never really tightens well enough to not shift the seat angle on a big bump
